One goal...90 days...and a view I’ll never forget

Hey Reader

This week, we are talking about project-focused work and the reward of finishing. I also have a quick AI tip. If someone forwarded this newsletter to you, you can get it every week here.

Ever feel like you’re constantly juggling ideas, half-started projects, and to-do lists that never seem to end?

That was me…until I committed to working in focused 90-day sprints.

Now, instead of trying to “do everything,” I zero in on one big thing every quarter and I finish it.

I call it my 90-Day Start & Finish Framework. This framework has helped me produce major events, complete personal milestones, and create consistent momentum in my business.

It’s not just about getting more done. It’s about finishing the things that actually matter.

What Is the 90-Day Start & Finish Framework?

The framework is a simple, repeatable system that helps you accomplish one major goal every 90 days.

Here’s how it works:

  • Choose one major project. Make it something that stretches you.
  • Break it down into monthly phases with weekly tasks.
  • Build in buffer weeks for when life happens.
  • Use the final two weeks to review, wrap up, and reset for the next quarter.

This isn’t about being busy. It’s about doing one powerful thing that will move your business or life forward in a meaningful way.

Why It Works

The power is in the time frame.

Ninety days is long enough to finish something substantial, but short enough to stay focused.

You can see the end from the beginning, which helps you stay committed.

But here’s the most important part:

Finishing means you kept a big promise to yourself, which builds real confidence.

When you complete something important…something you weren’t sure you could do, it reshapes how you show up in your business.

You start trusting yourself again. That momentum is everything.

How I’ve Used It in My Own Life

The key to a powerful 90-day sprint is choosing a goal that matters. It should be something that you can point to as a finished work.

It’s not a minor task or busywork. It’s a real accomplishment.

Here are a few of mine:

Hosting The Nomadic Income Summit - In just 90 days, I sought out and interviewed over 20 speakers, built the event platform, wrote the emails, recorded and edited video, and hosted the online event.

That summit is one of my favorite projects so far, but finding the right speakers and ones who could commit took more time than expected. Without committing to the framework, it would have been so easy to quit.

Taking Our Sailboat to Mexico - This was a personal 90-day sprint, but still a big project: final boat outfitting, provisioning, logistics, waiting out hurricanes, and the actual Gulf sailing for my husband and crew. It took intense focus, and we got it done within the timeline.

Launching This Newsletter - I used a 90-day sprint to start and stay consistent. It’s now a central part of my business rhythm, but it required dedicated time and intention to get started on the right track.

Each one of these projects became a permanent part of my business or lifestyle. That’s what a good 90-day sprint does — it creates something lasting.

Want to Try It With Me?

If you’re tired of half-finished projects and scattered progress, and you’re ready to focus on one goal that truly matters, I’m hosting a live workshop at the end of June.

You’ll learn:

  • How to choose the right goal for your next 90 days.
  • How to structure your time so the project actually gets done.
  • How to build confidence and momentum with each sprint.
  • And how to make finishing a habit, not a rare event.

No hustle. No hype. Just a system that works.

Workshop details are coming soon, but if you’d like to be notified when registration opens, just reply to this email and I’ll add you to the list.

🌴 Travel Moment: A Roof With a View

At the end of one of our 90-day sprints, prepping our sailboat and getting it safely to Mexico, we spent the holiday season in Isla Mujeres.

I remember feeling at loose ends once I arrived there. We had worked so hard to get there; it still seemed like I should be doing something.

I asked some cruising friends, “What do I do now?”

They laughed and said, “Go snorkeling, lie on the beach, do anything you want!”

So during our December stay, our good friends Dale and Monique flew in from Texas to visit. One evening, by pure chance, we ended up on the rooftop of a quiet local resort just as the sun was setting.

Standing at the highest point on the island, we turned in a full circle and took in the entire view.

The Caribbean Sea surrounded us, and Cancun glittered in the distance. The coastline faded into a pastel horizon.

That moment was more than just a great photo.

It was the reward at the end of a long, focused effort and a reminder of why we do the work.

💡 AI Tool Spotlight: Glasp

If you ever find yourself reading great articles online… and then forgetting where you saw them or what you wanted to do with them, Glasp is a tool worth trying.

Glasp is a Chrome browser extension that lets you highlight, save, and organize content from web pages and YouTube videos. But it’s more than a digital highlighter. It creates a searchable library of your insights, and you can quickly export notes to tools like Notion or Google Docs.

🔹 Why it’s helpful

Glasp makes it easy to revisit what stood out to you, turn highlights into social posts or quotes, and feed high-quality material into your own content.

🔹 How I use it for content

I save article highlights and expert quotes I might want to reference in emails, videos, or future work. No more digging through browser history or “read later” folders I never open.

If you read a lot for your business, this is a simple way to turn that input into useful output.

🔹 How I pair it with ChatGPT

When I want to quickly understand or summarize a long YouTube video, I use Glasp to grab the full transcript. Then I drop that transcript into ChatGPT and ask it to:

  • Summarize the key points
  • Pull out quotes
  • Suggest ways I can use the concepts

It turns passive watching into something I can act on.

If you need help making AI part of your workday, the Daily AI Fix is the best place to start. Make ChatGPT a habit in 30 days, with daily 15-minute lessons. You can find it here.

Until Next Week,

Tanya

Hey Reader Have you seen the articles floating around online about the dangers of AI? This week, I read an MIT study about "cognitive debt." The premise is that using AI makes us mentally lazy and reduces our ability to think clearly. I don't know about you, but that's not my experience at all. AI doesn't make me feel dumber. It makes me feel smarter than ever. It's like having a business partner who's available 24/7, never gets tired, and helps me expand on ideas I never would have time to...
