Hey Reader,
Wow…how is it July already?
We’re halfway through what still seems like a brand-new year!
I'm sitting here taking in the view of the Rio Dulce in Guatemala, clouds hanging over the mountains, sailboats bobbing in the water, and launchas racing along the river.
This year has been a whirlwind.
We hung out on the beaches in Mexico, anchored at hidden cayes in Belize, wandered through the cobblestone streets of Antigua, and squeezed in a trip back to Texas.
Travel was our big goal, and we did it!
I met this first week of July with intention, spending Monday reviewing the goals I set back in January and taking stock of what went right and what didn’t. I do this every quarter, but at mid-year it seems even more important.
Why? Because it would be dangerously easy to drift from here.
You know that summer feeling, right?
Everything slows down and urgency fades into the clouds drifting overhead as you float in the pool, cool drink in hand.
I've fallen into that trap before, and year-end regret hits hard.
I know it may seem obsessive, but taking stock each quarter is one of my secret weapons.
I pulled up a personal Notion page to review my 2025 plans. It’s an ambitious list, made in January, when there were 365 days left to get it all done.
Then I did the uncomfortable work of comparing them to life's reality.
- What have I accomplished?
- Where have I been spinning my wheels?
- What matters more now than it did six months ago?
Here's where it gets interesting.
I fed all the info into ChatGPT to collaborate and get some perspective.
The results? I have a clear vision for the next 90 days, and I know what success will look like come October 1.
It turns out some of my January priorities were complete distractions.
For example, I found out daily social media engagement isn't my thing. It feels forced, drains my energy, and keeps me from the activities that are working for me.
I realized others goals will require more time and effort to become what I envisioned.
Other areas of focus are moving forward...
I’m loving the AI client work I’ve started, and this newsletter is growing as I find my voice.
However, there were projects on my third-quarter list that I knew I needed to put on hold, mainly hosting a fall summit.
I made a decision that felt both scary and absolutely right: focus on YouTube growth, newsletter consistency, and write the rough draft for a book.
Three things. That's it. But I know these three will create the most momentum.
I don’t want to be dramatic here, but this quarter isn't just any quarter.
Once October hits, we're all getting swept up in the Black Friday hurricane, holiday chaos, and year-end scrambling.
You know exactly what I'm talking about. Nothing meaningful gets accomplished in Q4 except reacting to whatever's on fire.
The next 90 days are everything!
This is your window.
Right now is when you make the moves that matter. This is when you complete the thing that will make you look back on 2025 as a success.
I'm not talking about grinding yourself into the ground. I'm talking about choosing your one big thing and protecting it fiercely.
For me, that meant saying no to hosting a summit this fall, even though I loved hosting it last year. Spending four days connecting with all of you was so much fun!
I had to decide I'd rather have a thriving YouTube channel and a finished book.
So here's my challenge for you…
What's the one thing that, if you completed it by September 30th, would make your entire 2025 feel like a victory?
It's not 10 things. I see you over there scribbling notes as long as a kid’s Christmas list.
It's not “a little progress” on everything.
Choose one new thing.
Maybe it’s a skill you want to master…
a business partnership you've been afraid to pursue,
or a course you've been planning to create for two years.
Whatever it is, the clock is ticking.
No, I don’t want you to hit the panic button. I want you to decide that this is your time, your moment to shine.
Here's the truth:
The second half of 2025 just started. You can drift through it and join the crowd, making the same resolutions again in January 2026. Or, you can use these next three months to become a person who actually finishes what they start.
I know which one I'm choosing.
Until Next Week,
Tanya
P.S. What's your one big focus for the next 90 days? Hit reply and tell me! I read every response, and I'm genuinely curious what you're going to choose.
